tranny problems after tranny brace

i just installed my tranny brace, and now when i put it into reverse it is extremely difficult to pull it out. 1-5 work fine, but i have to physically hit it to get it out of reverse.

anyone else have this happen? should i just get used to it or what

Nathan

That's not normal. What tranny brace are you referring to? Are your diff and motor mounts still good?

a-spec tranny brace, new poly motor mounts, stock diff bushings (probably shot), and a diff brace.

i would think the diff brace would hold the diff in place when stopped, so the diff bushings wouldnt matter.

What happens after you take the tranny brace off, does it still do this?

do you have a short shifter by any chance? more specifically a B&M?
Reason I ask is I had new poly mounts, A-Spec's trans brace, KG's diff brace before I put in my short shifter and everything was fine. After I put in the short shifter for whatever reason reverse become more difficult to get into at times and at times it wouldn't get out of gear either.

Well I had the brace and B&M short shifter. I had no problem just a little bit of muscle to get it into first but nothing anoying. When I had the problem with my reverse was when the 5th gear synchro went out on me. It will go in any gear but no reverse. do you have any problem with grinding in 5th?

Could be too many rigid mounts putting a bending/twisting moment on the tranny case.

PPF?, eng torque brace?

If you loosed tranny brace bolts 4 turns, does brace drop with the bolt heads same amount, both sides?

Is it possible that these braces can force the tranny over to one side such that the shifter interferes with something?

no grinding in 5th at all.

i have an engine torque brace and super reinforced PPF

i would say the braces move everything around, the tranny and diff braces were the hardest things i have ever had to put on
