Tranny growling?
Hey all,
I recently had my clutch replaced and now I've noticed that the tranny is very noisy. I can especially hear it on throttle, but its also noticeable at idle in neutral. I know it has to be the tranny because clutch out, in neutral makes the noise while clutch in does not. It sounds basically like gears meshing together, not a grinding but more of a grrrrr type of sound. I'm thinking maybe some tranny oil was lost during the clutch job and it wasn't refilled, or maybe the refill oil was incompatible with the synthetic I already had in there. Any other ideas? The sound is the only symptom btw, shifting and everything else seems normal. I'm going to call them and ask on Monday but I always like to throw stuff out to the forum, can't hurt I figure.

Check the differential .... I thought my tranny was bad recently too. Turns out it was the differential. You could really tell when I got it on the dyno and just ran it @ 60 mph. Just giving you more things to consider.
If it makes a noise when the clutch pedal is out (engaged) and goes away when you push the clutch in (disengaged) then it is the throughout bearing. Ask them if it was replaced with the rest of the clutch (disk, pressure plate, AND pilot bearing)
If not, bust a cap in their ***!!!
