Which tranny is better?

Well i just dropped my transmission cause pops out of 1st everytime, my friends has a jdm transmission for sale and was wondering if its better the the usdm one if it i was gonna buy the jdm one and rebuild it or is there no diff?

What year JDM is it? I think the later ones don't have sincros. Also their gearing is a little different.

As far as I know their all the same for the most part except the JDM has a shorter 5th gear ratio. This is good for top gear excelleration and worse for mileage (but not a big difference). I have the higher JDM 5th gear and love it.

While you're in there, make sure the motor mounts and diff mounts are still good.
