Trailering your FD

Has anyone purchaseda automobile trailer to transport their car here and there? With rotary shops far and wide I see this as an option worth considering. Lots of trailer options, any thoughts?

My old man and his best friend have a big flat trailer for dirbikes and cars, I haven't used it yet but if I could afford one, had a tow vehicle and place to put it, I could definitely see myself purchasing a used one from someone. Josh

My dad just got an aluminum trailer on ebay for 1200$, with a winch and a fairly sized box in the front (metal as well). We use it for parts cars and such.

Depends on your pull vehicle.

Lightweight aluminum trailers are your only option if your pull vehicle doesn't have much tow capacity (less than 7000 lbs).

http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/ and http://www.trailex.com/

Either are ~$5000 for basic 20-footer. Winches are optional.

If you have pull vehicle with plenty of towing capacity, then flatbed steel trailers, or enclosed trailers are additional options.

What dimensions? What manufacturer? Please elaborate. I've done some shopping for aluminum trailers, and I have not seen anything usable for hauling the Rx7 (to/from open track events) that's less than $4500 (and that's for a good used aluminum trailer).

I've seen them on ebay as well. It was about 7 months ago when I looked, but I know they're on there. Nothing fancy, just something to put a car on. I'll see if I can find a few links for you.
