The latest model ZR-1 Corvettes are turning faster times with the new revised traction control on. With that kind of engine output, the electronic throttle can modulate torque better than a human can.

Rx-8's have modern stability control (independently applies brakes to individual wheels) and an electronic throttle. That's much more advanced than a crude Racelogic system.

I'm not saying that traction control makes the car more fun to drive, but it does make it safer and in some limited examples it does improve lap times.

The purpose of stability control in an SUV is again for safety and will definitely slow you down when the rear end brakes loose, power will get cut and brakes will be applied until the ABS sensors let the ecu know everything is normal again. What follows is a pretty big delay until the HP gets turned up again, this is bad for a sports car. Sorry for the run on sentence. There are times where this is very undesirable with regard to keeping forward momentum, e.g steering with throttle input. To refer to the racelogic system as a crude form of traction control is ridiculous. I too own an SUV (X5) with traction and stability control similar to the Q45, like yours it is used in conjunction with the the drive by wire but this by no means makes it better than a racelogic system, and for what its worth your lap times would definitely be slower with your Q45 and its traction/ stability system on, versus off. Not to say Nissan cant make one that is performance oriented , they obviously can (GTR gets mad props), unfortunately the system your vehicle is equipped with is for safety. Also as a side note, cutting throttle or adding it is essentially removing or adding fuel and spark, which is exactly what the Racelogic system does, check your facts. A crude system, that is just rude.

I think it would be nice to have a primative TC control on the RX-7. That way it would provide some protection to people who don't drive well and don't respect the car, but could be easily turned off for track use. A simple wheelspin TC wouldn't be so bad for street use.
