Cool Fong

Nice track pics, dude! It's always great to know there are a few open track FD owners on this Forum. I get so weary of seeing 1/4-mile ETs, and kill story posts

Anyhow, how'd you like your new wheel/tire setup from Rishie? Did the Volk GTPs and V700 Victoracers allow you take the "Cork Screw" just a little bit quicker?

What's with the downward pointing exhaust tip?

Was that Max Cooper's MB FD number 229?

You west coasters have it made. You can run open track all year long, while those of us living in the midwest have to hibernate until March!

It looks like you had a blast

The fitment for the Volks combined with the Victoracers was excellent.
There are 3 firsts for today
1: First time on the track with the FD
2:First time at Laguna Seca (What a track!)
3:First time using R compounds.

I have had numerous track experiences here at Thunderhill and back home in Asia.

Laguna Seca. 50ish weather, no clouds in sight, clear blue skies..what more can one ask for on a winter day.
I guess due to the holidays and bad weather we have had, very few people turned up. But watching that GT2 go on and on, run group after group was quite a sight. I could have swore this was a rental car.. He just beat the **** out of the car...good to see fast cars given a proper workout. His friend with the Diablo turning up in the afternoon was cool too.

My run group was full of mustangs and vettes. Some of them were really really fast. Not knowing what Hawk pads were like cold, I almost rear ended my friend's NSX going into turn 11. All in all, I had a great time at the track. I shall be returning to Laguna Seca with Speed Ventures, also due in the month of January is Sears POint and Thunderhill.

The green touring wasnt Max. His name is Rich, I think.
He was in the fastest run group. Car is almost a MaxCooper twin. Same color, CCW wheels, and big brakes. But Rich had willwoods.

The exhuast is for **** rich people who lives in Monterey. We have a 90 decibel limit. But I doubt anyone was given a black flag today.

We had a 540i which had a kissing session with a wall, a Viper was jealous, thus he did the same at turn 2.
The last one was during the last run session where a Mustang ate the wall on the front straight coming out of turn 11/12.

So, untill next time when you eastcoasters come out of hibernation....We westcoast trackstars owezzz you!!!!

50ish? Damn that's perfect for consistent boost production

Always sad to read about damaged cars at track events though...

Some day I will make it out to Todd Serota's TracQuest events at Laguna. I'm one of Todd's east coast instructors for Mid Ohio and Watkins Glen.

Say, maybe you can rent me your FD when I come to Laguna (hee hee)

Good job keeping all four Kumhos on the ground and keeping the paint in the same condition as when you started the track day

FWIW, you should consider a Racing Beat Dual Tip. I just got one to replace my old Trust Sport catback (looks like your catback). Much quieter, but loud enough to let the SVT Cobra lined up alongside know you're the sh*t

Oh yeah, that's me in my avatar, lined up next to a Porsche Twin Turbo PCA GT-1 race car at Mid Ohio's pitout. It took the Porsche TT just 5 turns to leave me in the dust (back straight at Mid Ohio )

very very nice. i want to get out to a few in the upcoming season. tired of autoXing. just seems like its a tease without an outcome. 1 minute then stop, one minute then stop. i love that GT2. my all time favorite car. sorry, but i would take one over the 7, but then again, who wouldnt. aside from the $180K+ price tag though. well glad i have my second favorite car very nice again guys

I really want to attend his events, but it's the MOST expensive ones out here...if you really do come out, it would be good cuz you can be my instrutor
For the whole day! .... + you get to drive an FD out here !!!

Well, the paint aint exactly like it was, bugs and chips...but first thing I did after I got home this evening was to clean out the car. I dont want sticky rubber sticking all over my new pimp Volks Wheels!
I am leaving for Vegas tmw, so.....

lucky weather

For the past week, we were beaten down by the storm
I was supposed to attend a ClubZ.org event at Thunderhill which was cancelled at the last minute due to the weather.

I was bummed cuz I had bought new wheels and tires for this event...luckily, this Laguna Seca event was a beautiful one..

Its nice...

You like me ghetto exhuast? heee...there were vette ans vipers sporting similar designs...

i was wondering about the numbers myself... i'd be a little worried about the magnetic ones... just because i had a magnetic sign come off of a work truck i was driving a few years ago... can't imagine what that'd be like on the track i'm sure if they're used regularly they must stay on fine. looks like alot of fun, i hope i can afford fun like that for myself one of these days
