tps connector unplugged, bad?

what would happen if the TPS connector got loose or get disconnected while the car is running? could it do any damage or will the engine simply stop?

thanks a lot

HUH? TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) is located on the throttle body. It has a plug on it and the wiring harness connects to it. Where's the "nipple" at?

In any case, I have disconnected the TPS and driven the car around. The only side effects are that the idle went up to 1500 rpms. BUT I have a PFC.

well it is not a really a nipple but the little thing that you press when you want to remove it, it is broken.

which means that the little pin that make sure it stays in place is not there anymore. It means that you don't have to press anything to remove the connector.

so it could unconnect by itself

that's what i meant, sorry
