Tower (Strut) bar 93-95 R1 - OEM - Can anyone point me to one of these?

I checked my mazda dealership, $952 - WOW - i would rather this particular bar, but if i cant get it for under $200, I will go with prob a greddy or cusco.

I check the forums here and on the net, so far I have come up dry.

Thanks!

I got mine used off ebay for about $120 shipped. It is in pretty good condition and they usually have a couple for sale by different sellers.

Damn, I was considering calling Malloy for one one of these days, but I guess it's kinda pointless. Time to search for an used one.

Id just get a cusco or something anyways. The R1/R2 strut bars arent known for their strength.

One sold on ebay for $61 the other night, a week after I bought mine for $140. So they're out there and cheap, although I can't believe how expensive they are from the dealer.

Actually this is wrong. The stock strut brace is much stronger and stiffer than a Cusco.

If in doubt look at the material strength differences between steel and aluminum. No contest, steel is stronger and stiffer.

Hmm..Maybe Im wrong. I could have sworn I remember reading that the stock bars were that strong. Maybe it was just the mounts?

the ebay knockoffs don't have the strongest mounts. that might be what you heard.

The only thing weak about the stock braces are that you can't use the REAR brace for a harness support. You can't use the Cusco or similar rear braces for this purpose either.

the stock brace is UGLY.

its NOT going to outperform the 30$ strut bars.

i love my polished ebay no logo strut bar.

60$ of bar stock and 3hrs of mill time can get you a rear harness bar....
