TOURING, LOW MILES, UNDER $15K?? Can i find one?

New to the board but ALWAYS wanted a 93 or 94
RED Touring with Black Leather and 5 Spd.
(bose, fogs, sunroof etc.)

is it possible to find one under 50K miles
in near MINT shape

for under $15K??

ive been looking to get one of these but the
mint ones are hard to find!

if you know of any let me know!

thanks!

AJ

AJ, it is possible, but look for something w/ a smoked motor or turbos and invest the remainder of the 15k in fixing it.... I got a mint 93 black w/ 58k and blown turbos for 11.5k w/ upgraded ecu, full exhaust, intercooler piping, battery relo, fluidyne radiator and all the reliability mods. All i've done is a 5th gear syncro and the turbos. That was until my car was stolen recently....... Granted, that is a hell of a deal, but I think people freak when something major breaks and you can bank on it.... Just have patience because you will need plenty of that when you own the car too... It's worth waiting for the right one though! I'm on my second 3g and I don't make the same mistake twice...

i know they are mechanical nightmares...

but i'm hoping to find one
thats been babied and well taken care of

the search continues (and maybe i should raise it
to 17-18K)

thanks again!

Yes very true!

Buddy of mine had a 93 Base 5 Spd with just intake and DP and i loved that thing!

you can REALLY REALLY tell how much lighter and smaller the RX7 is than a TT Supra.

ALSO, the RX7 (i hate to say) handles better than the Supra (even with Eibach's on my TT).

The RX7 is just a fun car and i'd like to have one
near mint just to take out on weekends.

but YES, they are awesome i realize that now.

I don't think so.

Sure, you can occasionally find a totally screaming deal if you are willing to wait for 6 months to a year, but I think you are dreaming if you think you will find a car like that for that price.

I just sold my 93' Touring w/ 48K miles (and it was MINT) for $16,900. I think I sold it too cheap because the first guy to look at it bought it for full price, no questions asked.

Just my $0.02

Good luck.
Jeff

I bought a '93 R-1 with 53K miles for 15.5K. You just need to look hard enough. Don't get dissapointed if you still haven't found one after 2 or 3 months. Took me 3 months to find mine.

I would say it's possible, but not likely. If you are going to be in the $15k range, probably you will only find ones with higher miles or ones that have problems.

If I were you, I would look for one with a blown motor for around $9-10K, and put some TLC back into it.

It happens. I just sold my 93 R1 w/ 46k original miles, very clean and plenty of mods for $15k. I was sick of the bullshit of people trying to haggle and people who didn't have their finances straight.
