This post is to all those people responding as though I am looking for sympathy. I just wanted people to see my car. Maybe give it the proper sending off that a good racecar deserves. Maybe persuade a couple people to buy roll cages. I mean, seriously, how often do you get to see a smashed-up FD.

One of the last one's I saw was where the son lost his father in it. Very hard to read since I used to rebuild and drive muscle cars with my dad. And there are more like this on the forum if you search. I think we'll be reading about you within the next yr...

Plus A racecar desreves to be sent off on a racetrack. Streetracing doesn't make you a Mario.FWIW... I feel for you with no track near by... I have to ship my car over to another island( Oahu) to get to a racetrack. Yet i still don't try to race around the "back raods" Good luck

It would be interesting to know the real numbers of them left on the road.

About as often as an inexperienced driver wrecks one screwing around on the street and comes here expecting us to think it's ok. Racecar, my ***. It's only a racecar when there is a real driver behind the wheel.

"I am actually a very good driver. I'm 21 yrs. old and this is my second FD."

You are not a very good driver.

A very good driver would realize they aren't going to be pulling off ANY drift @ _100_ mph on a public road.

Turn off the Initial D and take the damn car to the track.

You just said this is your SECOND FD? Now you're getting a third? Please just move on.

100mph on a public road. i think "good driver" has more than one meaning. u mean you are skilled. i think most of us mean that you are not a "good driver" as in you drive in a high risk fashion

when i get MY second FD i will want it to sit in my garage next to my beautiful perfect FIRST FD.

i am sorry you broke your car but it was YOUR fault.
and i mean yeah drifting is great but what if you hit someone. they might not have a rollcage or helmet...

so your saying you on purposely got sideways at 100mph or you just lost it going around a corner on the street??? im still confused on this point. (im thinking you just lost it, especially if its on the street. i mean its easier/better to say i lost it while drifting at 100mph instead of saying im a shitty driver and took a turn wayyyy to fast and lost it and totalled my car. no one i know of in florida has enuf skill to pull off those speeds especially on the street, even my friends in Hawaii are at only 80mph max when they get sideways and they are some of the best in the US and we are no where near as good as the japan guys which are at 100-110mph max when their start they slides).

in anycase, your car is not a racecar, especially if you dont/didn't have a roll cage in it much less all the other things necessary to bring it up to safty code or make it a real race car.

P.S. OMG your gonna buy another FD, install a roll cage and drift that again at highspeeds??? if so i fell sorry for you and/or your next car. i dont think your a good enuf driver to handle those speeds, especially in a FD, i mean you already recked one, didn't you learn from the first time? next time you'll kill yourself. why dont you try getting sideways in a 240? its cheaper and easier to control.

About your car losing a control arm... what kinda bullshit is that!! You'd have to have spaceage technology rubber... the kind that can grip a road at 100MPH and have the force of the grip actually break metal! Right... that kind of rubber doesn't exist!

please dont buy another FD and total it doing stupid ****...please get something else for your next car... there are only so many left you know. "Save the FD's" haha. on that note sorry to hear about the car, ive done some stupid things too (and most people here have too) like pushing the car WAY too fast on the highway. we all need to learn from things like this to be more responsible FD owners. there is a reason that the FD wasnt $5K when it came out... cause every power crazy teenager would have one. now things are diferent (with dodge coming out with there relatively cheap *** RS neon.... there are alot of people out there that arent meant to handle that much HP). this is the same for the FD!

The FD is a well refined car and takes a well refined driver, as well as a well refined mechanic! nuff said! heath

my thoughts exactly... if you're actually that immature to try a stunt like that at 100mph on a PUBLIC ROAD then you are a moron. i go drifting but it's in a huge empty parking lot and i'm only doing like 25mph... what you did just supports the stereotype that teenagers are DUMBASSES, and being 19 myself i really don't have any sympathy for you or your car. you got what you deserved.
I have to agree. Drifting at 100 mph, what an imbecile. You have proven to everyone here that you do not deserve such a nice car. Maybe you should buy a 6 cylinder Mustang. There are plenty out there, and no one would care if you wrecked it.

ya gotta go above 25mph unless your only staying in 1st gear (rotaries dont got that much torque unless your in the rain). also one cant really use ebrake below speeds of 30-40mph since it slows you down so much. In anycase, empty parking lots are a good place to play around in but even then, you can hit a lot of stuff!

go ahead and get another FD and wreck that one too. I'm not hoping you to get hurt, but another parts car is nice for forum members and another wrecked FD makes everybody elses go up in value.

you dont wanna use HRP as a drift track. its crappy and eats tires super fast, is tight (2 lane road is pretty much all you get), and is small. if you can find a nice empty parking lot your probally better off, but then idk how many big parking lots there are on the bigisland, hell here on oahu there are none which cops dont stake out at night all the freaking time (i have looked ). me and a couple friends almost snuck on to an abandoned airfeild but it did not work out. We have also snuck on to military bases but dont anymore cus it turns out running from guys with M16's is f*cking scary, and eventually we did get caught and nearly faced federal court for tresspassing on goverment land (this was nearly after 9/11 haha).

This thread is great. Who is betting it's just some kid that found a pic of a wrecked FD and thought it would be cool to post pics saying he wrecked it "drifting".... The new "cool" thing to be into.

Drifting, "sldiging" through sections of road.
Guys, we should stop bashing the dude. Sure, he did something stupid, but make him learn from his mistake.

Just one question...Now how exactly did this happen? I didn't read any real detail to what went downhill on this drift? What did you hit? Why did you lose control? Did you flip?(I'm assuming so since you need a roll cage in your next FD)
