well it really depends on the corner..a 45 sweep is nothing, you can do like over 100+ on that..LOL
he prob hit a corner close to 90 degree..and fishtailed and hit the brake which is sorta of a no no..you never hit the brakes when your sliding..happened to my friend in his pickup.. he was doing donuts in a upper level of a parking lot.. we were screaming he was getting close to the wall, he got nervous, hit the brakes and the tail swung fast right into the wall, knock his whole rear bumper off and cracked his taillights..it was funny as hell to watch...lol
anyway, sorry about the wreck, dont give up.. get another fd and use it properly..

don't worry about what the damn forum people think
its good you guys are fine and hopefully your insurance doesn't go up too high. Don't let the insurance company lowball you get every penny it's worth and then buy a better condition lower miles one (ahem stick with a 94-95 again)

I agree with Saner - a car is a *thing*. It can be replaced.
You and your friend cannot be replaced. Glad to hear that you are both safe.
Look at this entire experience as your first great steps towards adulthood - the realization that the world is not going to end because you wrecked the car. Take care of what needs to be taken care of, learn from the experience and move on.
Consider yourself lucky in the fact that your lesson was as gentle as it was - many people aren't able to walk away from their accidents.
Good luck with everything,

Might be a tad late but I too am very sorry for your loss. The improtant thing as it has already been said is that you and your friend are ok.
I would be mad too if only half of what you said happned to mine. That is why that I am always remembering myself of what I have in my hand and that I am dirving in public roads.
Hope your rebuilding projects can be managed out. Goodluck.

Thats to bad. Had a couple of close calls with mine in the pass 8 years, but nothing major has happened. By the way I got mine when I was 18. Did you get any pics yet. You should try to rebuild it though.
