top diff bolts to ppf pressed in?

I was about to throw in a new ppf but I noticed the top bolt that runs from the diif to the ppf has poped out. THe bottom ones are treaded in wtih studs but the top appear to be pressed. I cant seem to hit the top with a hammer to press it in. Anyone have any sugestions for pressing it back in? Couldnt find anything in a search. Thanks in advance, Mike

There are two studs along the bottom of the diff that are vertical.

One bolt, that looks like a lug nut, that goes horizontal.

Pg. M-27 in the manual.

You shouldn't try to "pound" it in. It is threaded.

I have looked at the manual, the bottom two are thereaded in studs. The top two are bolt that are not threaded intp the diff housing. If you look at hehr manual you see the top two bolts that are round on top that the ppf goes through. It is one of those. The one closer to the front of the car. It would make sence that they are threaded in since they are torqued to 130lbs but I assure you they are not. They do however have a spline type threading on them that is vertical instead of horizontal threads like you would think. Thanks for trying to help though. Mike

Top two bolts are held in place with a retainer, thus locking the bolt head from turning. Just pop it back into place

I think that's on the transmission end. IIRC, the top bolts on the diff are pressed in, similar to a wheel lug.

How the heck did it come loose?

To re-seat them, why can't you just tighten the nut when you put the PPF back in, similar again to a wheel lug?
