Too much premix?
Too much premix?
Hi!
so this may sound like a really stupid question but is there such thing as too much premix? I’ve done my last 2 fill ups 1:1 ratio, and recently have had a hard time starting the car, yesterday wouldn’t start at all, but would start when cold, thank you

Lmao are you trolling?
You wrote a ratio of 1:1. That would be a gallon of oil to a gallon of gas. I assume you meant 1 oz. of oil @ gallon of gas. That would be the generally accepted correct ratio for an engine WITHOUT an OMP.
Hard hot starting is often a sign of low compression.
A gallon of oil to a gallon of gas is when you want to lay down smoke to hide your battleship…..or finally get Greta Thunberg committed

Do you have a functional OMP?
1 oz per gallon of premix isn't bad, even if you are also running an OMP. When you start to get heavy on the premix you'll initially notice fouled plugs. If you go *too* heavy on it than it can start to change the AFR.
I've run 3oz/gal without issues.

If you still have the stock set up with the breather tube running from the oil filler neck to the intake pipe to the front turbo, if you overfill the oil, it can migrate down that tube to the front turbo and you will be blowing oil throughout your intake.
Check your cross over pipe for oil residue..
Also you may simply be flooding your car.
If the weather has been colder and wetter than usual , your typical starting procedure may catch you out.
The odd time I have flooded, we had to remove the plugs to let the compression chamber air out.
Now, I start mine without stepping on the gas at all.
And I always let it warm up before shutting off.
And give the motor a good rev as I shut it down.
But in the meantime, get that compression test.
