Today is the day! Tuning at Gotham with Steve Kan..hoping to break 400rwhp!

Here goes nothin!

After spending the past couple years building my car up with parts from the rx7 store, rotary reliability and racing, rx7.com, xs, sr, and the rest I finally got it tuned last spring at xs. The car is still running strong even after driving it from MA to MI.

xs was able to get me my current dyno sheets looking how they look. ( www.conceptart.org/dyno ) however the car still needs fine tuning, Which you can see from the vibration in the hp and torque line in the upper rpm's.

I have added water injection, an aem ignition setup, bushings for the rear and a new set of victoracers to keep it on the road. Gotham has done a great job.

I am leaving now for the dyno....should be done by late this evening...

I am going to be running a half point leaner on the afr's with the water injection and will run a little more advanced timing. the ignition should help clean up the chatter on my sheets past 5k rpms.

Im excited. The car is solid. mechanicals are finished....it will be time to do all the polishing, paint, and rims after this. finally.

anyhow....I hope everything works out. It has been a hell of a time investment and cash investment getting it this far.

I wouldnt want anyone else doing the tuning at this point though. Kan has earned his reputation. I expect great results.

Congrats, I hope it works for you. I thought the same thing when I was hitting 300 rwhp, which still scares me to this day, lol.

Good luck to you Jason. I have been following the development of your car as you have been posting since I joined up on the boards. I can't wait to see what kind of power the finished product will produce.

Good luck man, I hope you do well. And at least you can enjoy the drive down in sunny warm Austin, as opposed to the ****-hole of the northeast. (TRAITOR!!)

Congrat! Please post your results and the change with the water injection.

What unit are you using? A DIY or kit?

thanks guys...we werent able to get it all done today. We ran into some boost issues which Im going to have them take care of and we will retune and dyno as soon as possible.

I did get to see the maps that xs had put in and what they did with their timing...there was a cel of negative split in the vacuum...lazy lazy.

why cant it always be easy?

I will update when its all done. Til then...sorry for the tease.

Ok well it's usually sunny and warm, especially compared to mass.

artguy, what kind of boost problems were you having?

Good luck to you Jason, I guess your trying again today. Steve, Rich, Alex, & Ihor are the best. Your in good hands. But you knew that already.

For the record 911 we got 5.5 inches of snow in Grapevine (very close to Gotham), most snow in 19 years. No one is bragging about 2.5 inches of snow, its just an unusual occurance down here.

yeah in mckinney i think we cracked about 6 inches of snow I was excited it doesnt to it like that done here to often. But what we can brag about is the fact that in the middle of january it can hit 80 degrees and we can drive with the windows down and sunroofs open. Thats always nice in the winter dont ya think.

yeah...there were about a hundred car tracks in the ditch between here and dallas too. twenty flakes of snow equals "straight in the ditch" hehehehe

it was seventy five a couple weeks ago...got cold (well 30 is cold here) real fast..then there were the hugest snowflakes i ever saw in my life. they were the size of quarters...all heavy...just dumping from the sky. then it was over. wierd ****.
