Throwout Bearing, not on realease fork...

Okay, in a late night hurry I put the tranny in the car and mistakenly left the throwout bearing attached to the PP before instead of attaching it in the tranny to the release fork.

Is there any solution to attaching them without droppoing the trans again? I really want to avoid the jackstand shuffle again if at all possible.

Here are pics of the forks not attached to the throwout bearing.

No sir, I don't believe you can do that. T/O bearing must sit on fork first; then, push T/O bearing into lock ring in PP collar. Get your wrenches back out

Hey broken, once the throwout bearing is attached to the forks is there some sort of 'locking pin/wire' for it or does it just sit in there? I didnt think Mazda used any sort of locking for the fork in the TO bearing but I know Nissan does, I just want to be safe. I didnt see it mentioned in the manual either so I think I'm clear.

After dropping the tranny twice... once for the TO bearing and again for a broken reverse light sensor its all back in the car... I'm waiting on a few minor bolts to come in and an oil seal for the rear diff and everything on the bottom of the car can return.

When rocking the tranny back on the all too brittle wires for the reverse light switch broke off at the case and I didnt have enough room to re-solder it. I pulled the tranny out, cursed for a bit and then realized the 1-2 switch is the same design as the reverse switch... only a differant connector. I'll go into details about all of this later when I do a write-up with my experiances...

EDIT: Also, there are no locking pins/wires, I was only concerned about that as I know Nissan uses them and I couldnt remember about Mazda.

For a late answer to your previous question: yeah.
