throttle position sensor

my ck engine light is on and the codes say its the TPS. how much would it cost for another TPS, whats the labor time on replacing one and more importantly what does it even look like . any help would be appreciated. thanks

I don't know how much they are new, but you could probably find a used one for a decent price (ask Fritz Flynn).

As far as installing, its only two bolts/screws. However, after installation it needs to be calibrated:

I would verify the actual TPS is bad rather than a connector or wiring problem. That connector seems to get broken quite a bit because it can be a pain to get off at time (so people use some tools to help out which they probably shouldn't ).

Right, and the TPS code can also come on if yours is out of calibration as well. That should be the first thing you check, once you've verified it is properly plugged in.

its on the firewall side of the upper intake manifold.
its attached to the throttle.
