Throttle Body/UIM Boring Questions

2 questions:

1) With the double throttle removed from the UIM, How worthwhile would it be to cut out the center butterfly section on the secondary runners and make it one big open port?

Obviously unless you are pushing more power with a single would this probably even be a viable option which also leads me to the next question.

2) Who has ported their throttlebody? Porting on the primary butterfly is almost self-explanatory but the secondarys maybe being converted to a single butterfly? Or what kind of options are there for bigger plates to replace the older ones due to the porting in the TB?

Any help or suggestions/specs would be appreciated.

Rotary extreme offered a big bore TB at one point. I don't know if they still do. I don't recall ever seeing any flow chart results from a ported TB. I did mine a while back, removing the double throttle and merging the top holes into one and enlarging the bottom hole. It looks clean and nice but I certainly didn't notice any difference in the power or throttle response. I wouldn't look at this mod as though your going to gain much from it. It's something to kill the time if your bored though I suppose.

Ive heard taking out the double throttle alone will net maybe 5 rwhp but i can see because its a big blockage really.

Also I would think that boring out and making the secondary ports one big one wont do much for you unless you port the TB as well. With a motor built with a bridge or a p-port I would think that porting on both would net some very worthwhile gains because of the new breathing capacity.

I hear the 13B Cosmo intake is bigger? Want more flow, use one of these. pain in the **** though. I want to take out my plates as well. Just to simplify stuff. And like you said, FD3BOOST, boredom.
