Over Heat

Is it true that 3rd gen rx-7s tend to overheat and if so what can be done to address this issue

Put a cup of ice in with every 10 gallons of fuel.

Actually I usually do 2 cups of ice. Make sure its cubed ice. Crushed just melts too fast.

rx7 just runs hot, even with reliability mods, still runs hotter than a normal ride.

anyone ever thought of using TEC/Peltier technology to cool the engine? maybe run a peltier mounted on the radiator or on the intercooler or on hooked up waterblock to the water hose circuit...

above is a link showing TEC liquid chiller..wattage is applied and causes one side to be opposite in temp of the other...the waterblock allows the tec to actually reversly cool the water, as an example this is used for very high end server applications that require extreme watercooling, imagine a more powerful TEC chiller running on the watercircuit in the FD

replace plastic AST with metal one, or delete it. replace original radiator with fluidyne, koyo etc. run 70/30 coolant mix. In my case, I completed deleted the a/c, which worked wonders.

Oh, and look into running more/bigger oil coolers than the rinky dink one that the touring and base models came with. I have been told that oil accounts for 40% of the cooling within the rotary engine.

I've looked into Peltiers coolers to cool the IC pipes and overall intake stream and found that it wouldn’t be very efficient or cost effective.
