thread size of oil pressure sending unit?

I just got an autometer oil pressure gauge and the compression fitting is too large and its standard. Does any one know the thread size for the stock location?
I have searched and also asked my local mazda dealer and they couldn't tell me.
Thanks

It's on here somewhere. It's a screwy size. 1/4" BST or something.

The search isn't working for me right now. Try later and I'm sure you'll find something

The correct size is 1/8"- 28tpi BSP (British Standard Pipe Thread). Some people have had luck screwing an NPT fitting in there with enough teflon tape, but the correct method would be to aquire a BSP to NPT adapter (yes, they are available).

Hope that helps,
-Rob

Pegasus has a pretty good selection of BSP adapters: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/gro...D=PLUMADAPTBSP

That's what I used when I installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge in my Miata - it looks like Mazda routinely uses BSP for these fittings - heaven knows why. BSP is tapered, NPT is not.
