Agreed. Not to burst your bubble but that puppy is done. You can make some decent money parting it out. Good luck with your next car. I'm glad you're okay. You'll be able to replace the car....

It's a shame but I disagree about driving in the rain. There is zero reason you cannot safely drive this car in the rain, as long as you have good tires and common sense.

That is a hard enough impact that someone must have made a pretty big mistake, either the driver of the FD or the driver of another car.

Slid out in the rain once on a seriously slick part of the road. My rear tires didn't have enough tread. I hadn't looked at them in a few months and didn't realise how fast my FD was eating up the rear tires. I was used to my Miata. Fortunately I did not go off the road or do any damage.

My.02, good tires/brakes should go a long way as long as youre not carving up apex's hoping you get the grip...Know your limits or your car's, tires? equipment..ah, w/e

I'm parking mine tonight....rain in the forecast!

 

I got stuck in the rain last night...first time in a few years I drove in the rain. I have never got in my car and left the house (in the FD) with it raining or knowing it was going to rain.

 

I dunno - that could be as simple as a bump into a stopped SUV at low speed. The incompatible bumper heights would have run the FD under it and caused the kind of damage you see there. You think that's a nasty idea - picture what happens when the SUV t-bones the FD and concentrates the impact above the center of the door. (I don't like the idea of lifted trucks on the street, can you tell )

Rain is dangerous IMO because on the street you need more stopping distance, more road width for recovery, etc when something sudden comes up. Nearly all of us are guilty of not backing off enough, slowing down enough, etc in rain to avoid possible accidents. We're accustomed to reacting in dry conditions.
