thinking while building my v mount

So while i was making some brackets to mount my intercooler i noticed a spare fc oil cooler on the ground and started to have some ideas flow. The easiest thing that came to mind to mount it is to sandwich it between the intercooler and radiator where they meet. i'm going to pick up some metal tomorrow to make some brackets and hopefully it will work i will post up some pictures when i get the chance.

Doing that as opposed to mounting in the stock locations???

As you increase the angle of the rad/IC, you're losing their cooling abilities
Why sacrifice that when you can just put the oil cooler where it belongs?

^^ Agreed. Air will find the easiest route to flow. This is why most people with V-mount setups utilize a splitter or ducting to evenly distribute flow between the radiator & intercooler. Radiators are much thinner generally and will draw more air than a thicker intercooler if not properly ducted.

This principle would apply to your oil cooler idea as well.

I would simply use the stock location with 2 stock intercoolers or an aftermarket setup. It's been tried & true on both the track & street. Oil temps are easily controllable with a stock location being used.

No need to reinvent the wheel.....

Not only ^^ that but the fins on the oil cooler are further apart creating less resistance and allowing air to flow away from the radiator and IC and only through the oil cooler.

i am making everything on my own so i can increase/decrease the angle of each can anyone else confirm that increasing the angle of them looses cooling i would think with a greater angle the more cooling it would have but i'm no pro so i don't know. the angle will actually decrease if the oil cooler is put between them.

i just thought it would be a good idea as it would be cheaper to mount this one up then to buy a dual setup i have the stock driver oil cooler and the fc is huge compared to it.

Cost can be pertty low bro... I'm doing a dual cooler setup & it's not expensive, or hard for that matter.

Dual's work great. Why re-engineer the air flow to your radiator & intercooler?

I think its a good idea having the oil cooler between the v mount setup. So now you would have 2 extra front bumper openings to vent to either your brakes or turbo filter.
