As long as it's the newest body style Miata, I agree. They look like mini FDs (to me, don't flame me, it's an opinion!).

Drive a FC 'vert, drive a Miata. Then make a decision. FC 'verts aren't really sports cars, Miatas are.
Wow, I really have to test drive an FC! I went to the Mazda dealership this afternoon and test drove a new Miata SE (I'm not actually looking to buy one, I just wanted to see what a Mazda vert was like). I was not really impressed. It handled good, but I was surprised about how slow it was. I just checked, its 142 hp and weighs 2450 lbs. I also didn't realize how small Miatas are... it was REALLY tight in there! And I'm not very big (5'6", 160 lbs), and the top of the windshield was almost blocking my view. I can't imagine anyone taller than 5'8" driving it. And they wanted $28K for it!

Anyway, I think what I'm going do is officially put my FD up for sale, but I'm going to ask for what I have in it so far. With the few mods and maintenance stuff, it'll probably be around $13K. I still have to do the calculations. Its a 94 PEP, white, 90K miles, almost perfect condition, the original paint still looks good. I think its been garaged it's whole life (and I'm garaging it too). The interior is immaculate. For mods, I have HKS dp, K&N filter, autometer water temp and boost gauges, HT vac hoses. I have a RB Dual Tip catback on order, and I have a midpipe on right now, but the cat is going back on it shortly. If it sells, great, if not... maybe I'll hold onto it.

FD vs FC vert

Well, I have both too (had a Miata - MX5 too)...

They're both great cars, I guess it depends on what you intend to do mostly with it...

IMO Good points are :

FD :
Better Looking.
Better Handling.
Quicker.
Less Fuel.
MUCH better Track car

FC Turbo vert :
More comfortable.
More reliable.
More fun in nice weather.
Cheaper!

But if you can't find a Turbo vert - forget it.. the N/A's suck bigtime....

They're VERY different cars - hard to believe they're so closely related...
