Thinking of buying a 94. How much for engine rebuild?

I'm an owner of a 92 Miata and previously owned a 81 and 85 RX-7. I've been dying to get my hands on the 3rd generation RX-7. I just found one very close to where I live for $8000. It needs an engine rebuild. What would be the estimated cost for an engine rebuild and turbo rebuild also?

Also, what would the cost be for a brand new 13-B engine? Can they be bought throught Mazda still?

new? I don't think so. reman is like 2200? for engine alone if you have a core. a rebuild with a good core can be had for a little less or a little more depending on R&R price and whether or not they go to 3mm seals. 99spec turbos(somewhat improved over ours for ~20 more hp stock?) are what, 3200?. turbo rebuilds with good cores go from ~700 to ~2500 depending on how much they are upgraded.

remove and reinstall, 1-2k probably. boost guage; 50-150$ (if it doesn't have one).

Leave at least an extra grand in your budget on top of the engine cost for odds and ends.

A "new" motor is about $6500 for the parts, but that doesn't include assembly.
