I was thinking about getting the Greddy T-78 kit for my car. I have been searching a little bit, i was wondering other than the obvious like the turbo and the manifold what else really needs to be changed out, i will get a new fuel setup of course and probably stiffer suspension, what else internally would i need? Thanks for the help.

along with the fuel kit u will need a large intercooler and tuning like PFC.

 

I seem to recall your car being nearly stock. It will cost $8-10k to go single PROPERLY, unless you can do all the labor yourself. Even then, it will be well over $5k.

then aside from the turbo kit with all the necessities for that kit,you need a pfc, injectors, new clutch/flywheel, tuning..then someone has to install/tune it..

I think a price of 8-10k is still a little optimistic even doing most of the work yourself. I think was around 15k after every supporting mod to be able to get the car to work properly. Then of course **** broke and that costed me more to fix. Its never ending, but worth it.

Yeah the car is stock right now, well i have a greddy intake and NGK plugs and wires. I would most likely do it myself, the turbo is $3399 and i know all of the other stuff equals out to be well over another 4k, i knew i would have to change the fuel setup and stuff but i was just checkin. I will probably get 850cc primary and 1000cc secondary, denso fuel pump, power fc all of that good stuff u know.

So to my understanding from what you guys have said, take off the twins that i have and y-pipe and put on the new manifold and change out the fuel setup, what about the wiring for the sequential setup just unhook all of that??

 

Also this winter i plan on getting full exhaust dp mp and cat, is there a way just to bypass the air pump or should i just get the full pulley set and get rid of it right away?

Better yet just give me the site for the instructions on eliminating the air pump, i had it on my computer before we got it cleaned out. It was rob something.

 

Before you're in there doing the fuel injectors and BOP's, study up on the Rats Nest removal. Knock it all out at once! That's about as deep as you're gonna go.

It is expensive but IMO, it was well worth it. My car just runs so much better on the single To4s that i have. Oh, its a daily driver too

 

sell your FD, and buy a Single FD already converted to save yourself some money.

How do you like the XS ignition amp? I wonder how the XS compares to the twin power?

 

I am never in favor of buying somebody ele's project. What did they do wrong? What did they do RIGHT? I understand, that after the project is completed, there are many factors for selling a car. However, after you've spent an additonal 15k, and all the blood, sweat and tears...i don't know. Maybe I'm just sentimental like that.

 

Works great i have no ignition break up at all. Get the XS or The HKS ignition and don't waste your time with the AEM like i did!!!

 

Since I get calls all day about this same thing, here is a list of what is needed.

1. Single Turbo Setup - T78 $3399
2. Greddy Front Mount - $899
3. Greddy Elbow - $115
4. Fuel System Upgrade - $600
5. Fuel Pump - $200
6. Ignition Amp $300
7. Power FC $1000
8. Some sort of Midpipe/highflow cat - $300
9. Upgraded Clutch - $500

These are the minimum requirements for a single turbo.

Good idea Jason!!!! Now he can see really what he wants to get himself into LOL! I think with that set-up you won't even be able to boost the **** out of it either!

 

And this is not including tax (if it applies) or labor and tuning.

 

oh, and the 200-300 dollars worth a stupid little crap that your local parts store carries. Things such as hose clamps, fluids, relays, wire, and other dumb ****.

 

Labor is between $1500 - $2000 depending on where you take it. I would add a couple hundred for miscellaneous crap.

I figured i might as well go single anyways because everything that i was going to buy was on that list, except for BNR's or 99 spec turbos, i think i would be better off just going to single while i'm in the process of changing everything else out.
