Things to upgrade or fix while motor is out...

hi
I just bought the FD with the burn motor. I'm going to build this baby from scratch. Please give me some advices of thing I should upgrade in this process. I'm going all the way to the single turbo. 370-400 rwh.
Please be specific. The machanic who work on my car is very good with mantaince on RX-7 yet I'm not sure he has all the knowledge on RX-7 performance like you guy.
Thanks a bunch

depending on how much mulah you can cough up at one time, it depends. I am currently in the same boat and I picked up the RP complete fuel system, pump, 1600s fuel rail and regulator. Stand alone, namley the Power FC, the almight dp and catback, and a good size intercooler would put you in the 320-340 rwhp on the stock twins fairly easy. Then with the 370-400, the apex bb RX6 has wicked spool up and is capable of those numbers. Well, I gotta go water my money tree, good luck!

Don't forget get to get new vacum lines, radiator, ast, good clutch that will handle the extra power and a new or resurfase flywheel. If $ is not a problem get it street ported then you problably will be set. If you are a little bit cautious ( if i spell that right) then you may want to get a turbo that has a little bit of lag. I don't like the turbo to kick in right away and get me to go side ways like with the stocker at 15 PSI did to me one morning.

I'd go for...

Lightweight flywheel (~15lbs, not one of the 9.5lb aluminum ones)
ACT Street / Strip clutch (regular disk, not the 6puck)
1680cc/min secondary fuel injectors
Walbro gss341 fuel pump (255lph)
Front mount IC (Isuzu NPR works great)
EMS (Haltech, Power FC, etc etc.)

That should get you off to a good start
