Thermoswitch in later FD models??

It seems to be the general consensus that we are better off by keeping our engine temps down. For some unknown reason, Mazda engineers decided to make our 93-95 FDs run pretty hot. We have speculated that emissions could be a reason for this. I am wondering if the later model FDs (96 or later) had any changes in the thermoswitch. Does anyone know if they decided to make it run cooler in any of the later non-USA models?
