I'm helping a friend swap his dead alternator for a good one that I bought from Fritz. But when I tried to put the old pulley on the good alternator, the pulley sits on the casing instead of going all the way through. I'm just wondering if they changed the casings and pulleys throughout the different years. Thanks!

 

Oh and btw his dead alternator was a "Hi tech" remanufactured alternator

 

They are all the same. If the alternator pulley isn't sitting right, there could be a spacer that should be there or the pulley is backwards.
