I have the Greddy SMIC and there is 2-3 more inches of space that just feels wasted.

I think the Pettic cool charge II might be what your looking for
My car but with the 51R smaller battery
Toms car with the original battery
I can't say for sure the stock air box will fit .....

What's wrong with your Greddy?

how is the greddy smic though?
i just got one and havent installed it yet
i know its going to look better but im in it for the performance..many people say its only a bit bigger than the stock IC and it doesnt even do a difference...
but im thinking....then why the hell would greddy make a product that doesnt add any performance

There are a thousand threads on this but as to size:
Stock cooling area 52 in sq, charge flow 29 in sq, volume 129 cu in
Greddy: 93 in sq, 50 in sq, 371 cu in thus twice cooling area, twice charge flow , 3 times volume
Pettit CC2 (old) 105 in sq, 35 in sq, 368 cu in. ; CC2 (new) 37 in sq charge area (different flow direction)
Notes:
Cooling Area: gives idea of cooling capacity driving
Charge Area: gives idea of flow restriction / pressure drop
Total Volume: gives idea of heat sink / radiated cooling capacity in stop and go
Note: flow efficency differences due to design also effect performance

I like my (tri-point racer inspired) Greddy smic, but 2 issues:
1) still, no one offers a proper duct. Chopped mine from a pettit.
2) lower elbow chokes the flow ... just look inside it. Close to stock high pressure drop. I ported 2 fl oz of aluminum from mine, and got about 1 psi more boost. get a shop with calipers and grinders to open it up, and leave .12" minimum wall thickness.

I may offer a duct on a limited basis.
