Are there any problems w/ disconnecting the battery?

My friend asked me some uestions for when his dad puts his 1994 RX-7 into winter storage. Well since I don't know much about FDs, I figure you guys could help.
Do you have to do anything after disconnecting the battery on a 1994 rx7. Like does it reset or mess with the computer and stuff? What about for long times of being disconnected?
Do u have to let it idle or something to let the engine re-gather information or what
Thanks guys

Node, When I put my car away for the winter I don't disconnect the battery I just attatch a trickle charger on it. This will maintain a charge on the battery and allow me to quickly start the car up every 2 weeks. While it is running I also run the AC for a little while cause I hear the compressor seals can get funny from long periods of non use. The car us usually up off the ground to the wheels don't get flat spots and I have a full tank of gas with fuel stablizer in it. Also check for little animals living in the engine compartment. (it may happen) There are a bunch of other things you should do like fresh oil change before and after, keep it covered, throw in a bag of dessicant inside, bla bla.

I'm still driving the car (had it out Sunday) It may be a short winter, It's been a long fall!

Jim, you gotta take me for a ride in it sometime.
BTW, the FD I am talking about is one of the rare FDs in our area. My friend lives in collier.
Anyways, you still need that room on my @home server?
Becuase @home went bankrupt, and I have AT@T BI, which has 10mb, just PM me and I will get you another account that this time will stay, and I will find you that program to compress your pictures.

Node, there's no problem with disconnecting the battery. I follow this guildline, and it worked great last year.

http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobi...er_storage.htm

I didn't raise up the car or anything, and i didn't get any flat spots. I've been thinking about doing the ATF trick instead of overnight...over WINTER That oughtta clean the hell outta it. Hope this helps.

I've got an aftermarket alarm that goes off after you reconnect the battery.... pretty annoying.

also if you have the security code enabled on the radio then you will have to put this in to play the radio when you reconnect the battery. I bought mine used and so I didn't know the code. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it for free.

OK same question as NODE but with a power FC. Any harm in disconnecting the battery? Do you have to go through the 20 minute idle thing again?
