Testing popup headlights

Hi,

I have a set of popup headlights that I'm taking off my fd to sell and I want to test the motor to see if they work properly. The car they are coming off of is not in running condition and has no battery. Any one know of a way to test them out of the car?

Thanks
John

I can't believe that no one has ever tested a set of lights out of the car.
Anyone?

I would just say hook it up to a 12 volt battery but the more I think about it I think that the headlight relay... I'm prity sure there is one, is for the headlight motor and there might be something else inline that might cause power to flip on and flip off. I really don't know, any power you hook up to it should cause it to at least want to move. Watch your fingers though those damn headlight motors are strong and gave a good try at cutting my friends finger off = )

I would put it on the ground and leave it durring the test. It really moves fast if you arn't ready for it.

Thanks for the reply.

I need to figure out the wiring on the plug. I'm not sure what the 4 prongs are for on the plug.

Thanks
John

The problem is that the car is not in a state where I can plug it up and do anything with it. the original plugs are still intact for the lights but we are not where we can put the battery back in yet. I didn't want to have to wait for us to get that far in the project just to test the lights out.

Thanks
John
