Installed my Autometer elec. sending unit. Ready to wire it, but it calls for me to tap into the ignition. What, where, and how???? Did a search and no luck. Already have power run, just need to know how to tap into the ignition and why if anyone knows. Thanks.

 

I think what it means is ignition = ACC, it's the 12V source when you turn ur key to the ignition position.

You can run it off the car stereo ACC which is the red wire.

 

Right..basically you want to find a wire that is +12V when the ignition is on(but car not started)..

I got my constant and switched +12V from the radio harness and also the light. Just use a volt meter and probe each of the wires in that harness, you'll find it..

If you don't want to open up the radio..you can get it from the ignition harness right underneath the steering wheel..
