Question Temp Gauge Question??

sorry i know this is a noob question but ive searched for a good pic of what im looking for and the ones ive found havent been very usefull. i have a autometer water temp gauge and i think that the hose came off a little because the thing worked fine before and now it will barely go over 180 and i know it had to be hotter than that. so if anyone could help me find what this is connected to or post a good pic of it i would really appreciate it!

thanks alot guys!

What little hose are you talking about? Where's your sender located?

Do you have a mechanical or electrical gauge?

There are several locations where senders can be installed for a water temp gauge. Sometimes in a hose, sometimes not. If a "hose" came off, you would have a leak. Do you have a leak? If you don't know where the sender is, you need to find the wire to the gauge, and follow it.

How would we know where your aftermarket sender was installed and how do you know it was hotter than 180 degrees ? ? Did your stock gauge move past halfway ?
