Temp gauge not reading

I just swapped my motor and now the temp gague doesn't work. only thing I can come up with is that the motor is a 97 (so its obviously from japan) and my car is a 94. Yes everything else was swapped over like rats nest, UIM, and LIM, etc. I did not however swap the water pump. My guess is that the "jdm" sensor is in celcius and just doesn't register on the stock gague? Does this make any sense?

i believe the gauge is controlled by a sensor that is separate from the ecu. don't think it has anything to do with F or C readings.

the sensor is on the US Driver's side of the motor, kind of below the oil filler neck. i accidentally lost mine when rebuilding my motor so i capped the bung. now my temp gauge doesnt do anything, but i monitor the temp from the PFC commander. still need to order that new part.

maybe you forgot to attach the clip to that sensor...

Make sure you have the right clip on there. There is one for the oil pressure sending unit and the coolant temp. It's not uncommon to mix them up since they are right next to one another.

Just got back from messin with it...checked it and it was all connected. changed the sensor anyway...still no reading. Is there anything else it could be? (well obviously there is, otherwise it would work. but i have no clue.)
