Tail lights stuck on!

Changed a hose clamp on the power steering hose today. To install the clamp your arms are near the fuse box and battery but I did notice any jarring to either.

After I finished I noticed the tail lights were on. I removed the "tail" fuse inside the car, but they were still on. In fact the only way I could get them to turn of was disconnect the freakin battery. I've tried to jiggle the harness near the fuse box in the engine compartment to no avail.

Any ideas. This kind of crap scares me as mechanics charge strictly labor and
I've never seen a one hour fix.

get a electrical manual and see where and how the tail lights are wired.. I'm sure the dealer or mechanics are going to do the exactly the same thing..

Not to sound stupid, but are you sure it's not brake lights?? If it's tail lights(running lights, you should have all the lights on in the car, including dash and front marker and side markers. Mine had brake lights on and it was because the rubber plug that presses on the switch plunger fell apart.
