Tach going out?

I got in my car this morning and now all of a sudden my tach does not work. I mean it works but only after a certain time. there is no real set time. it comes on when it thinks it should come on. do you guys have any wisdom to share?

mazdaboy, some of the RX7's tachs seem to have a problem with solder joints breaking.

I just sent you an e-mail with a write-up I did on a DIY tach repair. Your situation sounds a little diferent, but maybe it'll help.

Dave,
Can you post the fix? My tach is out and Im thinking it has to do with a bad ground somewhere, maybe the ignition.

My tach is also acting up, but I got used to it. I listen to the BEEEEEP
