T-66 Budget Kit hits da track

Hey guys,
Despite my recent compression test showing 6.5fr/6.0rear, the car still feels good so I took it to the dragstrip to see if my ***-o-meter was in need of a recalibration. 1st pass was at 14psi 93 octane and the density altitude was 1500 ft. Mods are here: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=196951 I was running 225/50-16 Nitto drag radials. I did a quick clean up on the tires and left at 3800 rpm with a nice bog (doh!). This is considered an "average" track.

For the 2cnd pass, I had the water injection armed and the boost set at 17 psi. I was number 1 in line and the skies opened up. Packed it up and went home.

what is your best 60' with the nitto's? I use m/t et streets and they are ****. Cut a 1.7 60' on them. Nice run ,your mph is good should be low 11's or high 10's

That trap speed seems to be in check. Very nice numbers, the 60' could definatly lose some time too.

Thumbs up

Yup, what Kyle said. Looks good man---with a stronger motor you can definitely be trapping into the 120s

Thanks guys, this was my "shakedown" pass right off of the highway and I'm a wuss at the dragstrip. This car never ceases to amaze me and the people in the stands who have no clue what it is

Edit: My car weighed 2690 with 1/2 tank. Spare removed but no other weight reduction mods besides the ones you get with full exhaust/single.

The coolest thing about runing crap *** times like that is when the people who KNOW drag-racing see it and see the crazy trap speed. THAT is entertaining. I've seen a FWD eclipse go high 9s in the 1/8 and trap 99. Everyone called it garbage.... but with that trap speed.... wow.

Hey Tim,
That was at SDR. I can't get into Commerce because my battery is in the bin and doesn't have an external cutoff switch.

When's the next time your heading down? My best down there a couple months ago was 12.9 at 114...street tires with a 2.1xx 60ft time. You'd be pulling hard past me at the end

2690????That is 325lbs lighter than mine. (I weigh 185lbs.) Are you sure about the weight? If my car weighed that I would be running 11's with my current setup.

Get you some ET streets, launch at 5500 rpms, and then say hello to 11's

Anyway like Vosko said great time for the first pass....

117mph? That's enough for a 11.40 pass with a good tire and driver.........
