Here is some solid proof:
81 RX-7 - Car Stolen at 283K on original engine - used MOBIL 1 Synthetic 10-30
86 RX-7 - Car Traded In at 190K on original engine - used MOBIL 1 Synthetic 15-50
93 RX-7 - Car Totaled by some dumba$$ lady at 98K on original engine/turbos - used MOBIL 1 Synthetic 15-50
94 RX-7 - Still running strong at 94K on original engine/turbos at 14psi - MOBIL 1 Synthetic 15-50
Don't think I baby them either when I drive them.
A waste of money? Possibly. I change my oil every 2500 to 3500 miles. However, definitely never had an oil related failure/engine/turbo issues due to using MOBIL 1 Synthetic.

i've always use half synthetic soybean oil. it doesn't break down as quickly but allows your temps to rise faster and cut cooking times.
gsr1000, you have a vein popping out of your forehead man.
not everyone is a true believer.
i look at it this way. if your engine pops, etc, due to oil buildup or whatever, its just an excuse to rebuild and port. but thats just my $2 bill ya'll.
