synchro ring and mazda dealer

I have the 5th gear syncro problem and have just ordered the repair parts from my local dealer. I got the part numbers from the info at scuderiaciriani.com. Well, when i was handed the invoice for the parts the ring was listed as W501-17-725C instead of the W501-17-725B that i asked for. When I asked the associate at the parts counter about the difference he said, "C replaces B, mazda always does that. Hell, the next time I turn around it will be D."
Should I be worried about the difference? Has anyone ordered this part lately under this new part number? Anyone who has done this job before care to share any tips? I have experience in engion rebuild and have pulled many transmissions but I have never cracked one open. I have the shop manual and feel confident but having never seen the inside of of a trans I could sure use some feedback from someone experienced.

The "C" was correct when I did mine in December so don't worry. It was definitely a newer/different part.

The only tips I have are that there are a few small parts (ball bearings and stuff) that you don't want getting loose where you don't see them... So just study the manual as you take it apart and double triple check it all when you put it all back.

You need a puller with very long arms, so I hope you have one or can make one.

I have various sized pullers and I am willing to weld together whatever else i need for tools.
I ordered the shift select spindle $49.41, The syncro ring $30.50 and the related gasket $7.50. I tried to order the rear main oil seal as i am replaceing clutch and flywheel also and figured i would do it while i am there but the associate at the parts counter could not find a part number. He seemed like he did not know what i was talking about. I was glad I had the part numbers for the spindle and syncro, theres not telling what i would have gotten.
