Question Symptoms of old gas??

Had the car sitting idly by for 2 weeks with a quarter tank of Chevron 91 in it. Starts up fine. Idles fine. Warm until the tstat fully opens. Pulls hard in first 2 gears up to 4000.

After waiting at an intersection, it no longers pulls after 2k. Boost is registering but the car doesn't want to move. If I open up the throttle some more, the boost rises as normal but I just hear a big OOOOOOH from the intake. Also, idle vacuum is still right on the money.

Right now I'm going to look for other things that don't add up. I'm really feeling it's fuel related and I am going to check the fuel pressure and injectors. You think sitting around that long can have such an adverse affect on gas?

One last note. Car will rev anywhere in the range. It's only under load that she doesn't want to move past 2k, specifically under boost. My FD has become a civic.

I've had mine sit for months without issues (at least no issue with the gas).

from what you've described it sounds like your venting boost somewhere.. meaning you have a ripped hose or a clamp has come loose. Not gas related.

ditto

Vacuum can still read fine. A tear could be opening up only under boost.

You guys are probably right.
Since Manifold pressure is correct, the most obvious place to start looking is the MAP sensor.

Having it run well for a few gears and then suddenly stop gets you so worked up that you start cooking up bizarre ideas.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad nobody mentioned apex seals.
