Switched +12V Light Wire for Temp Guage

My Cyberdyne digital guage is a little bright for my liking at night, and there's a dimmer wire. Where can I connect this to a switched source that's on when I turn my parking lights or headlights on? And NO I cannot use the wire that's connected to the dimmer, that's not a full 12V to activate the guage's dimmer. Thanks!

PS- close to the driver's side kick panel would be ideal

That's connected to the dimmer, but i found out it doesn't matter. The dimmer on the Cyberdyne guage just SUCKS. It dims it about..oh, say...1/10th of a lumen. Bullshit. Tested it by just hooking the dimmer up to straightup 12V power, and saw it dim the same amount as when it was connected to the dimmer switch. Oh well. Thanks. Everyone else can just disregard this post.
