switch crv and blow-off valve?
I read somewhere that it is safe to switch the crv and blow-off valve temporarily for testing purposes even though they have different operating points. Is this true? I'm trying to diagnose a secondary boost problem, I figured if the CRV is bad things should at least work differently with the two switched.

What is the easy way to see if it works? I can blow through it one way and not the other, but its operation under full boost and temperature has to be significantly different than any test I can devise off the car.

Switch them. If it fixes the problem, replace your CRV. If it doesn't fix it the problem is elsewhere... Unless of course, your BOV is bad too, but you'd notice that loosing boost anyway...
