Swap

So i just recently bought an rx-7, but it has no motor or tranny. i'd like some input if people know if i can put in the RENESIS 13B and the 6-speed tranny from the rx-8 in to the 7?

or if i decided to just stay with the twinturbo, can i put in the tranny from the rx-8

Short answer no and no.

While it's probably possible, it wouldn't be a drop-in direct replacement. While both motors are 'rotary' motors, there are differences which don't make it necessarily a viable swap.

As for the transmission, more gears doesn't necessarily equal better.

on top of that, the rx8 tranny is weaker and cannot the the power the fd tranny does. but if you really want to go all out, get the guru racing tranny or the greddy/trust 6 speed gears with the acft propeller shaft... that is if you have the +6000$ just on parts alone
