Question Suspenstion Questions

I'm not getting a lot of traffic over in the suspension forum so I thought I'd throw a link up over here. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA!

I'll make it easier for you, here's the post:

I've always been a power guy so this suspension stuff is new to me. In a few weeks I'll have finished up all the power adding mods that I have planned for my FD (till I get bitten by the need again...) and was planning on turning my attention to freshening up my worn suspension. Everything is stock and as far as I know orginal from the factory on my 93 FD with 60K miles. It's mostly a weekend pleasure car with occasional trips down the 1/4 mile. I'll probably never auto-x and maybe do a MADS type event once or twice. So with all that in mind what would be a good setup for me? I know I have some bushing issues in the rear cause I do get clunking, and I have a little bird chirping so I'm assuming there's at least one wheel bearing that will need replacing too. I had thought of getting jimlabs bushings, but I think they will be overkill for my application. Beefing up the launching capabilities is high on the list of priorities too so I was looking at M2 and Pettit's trailing arm/toe link/launch kit options. When it comes to springs, shocks, coilovers, etc I'm clueless so advice would be appreciated in those regards. TIA!

C'mon, someone must have some advice on upgrading the suspension? Please?

Coil overs are a great investment, but for a street/strip car they are a little $$$ in my opinion. Right now im looking into inversting in the M2 trailing arem toe link kit. To get rid of the wheel hop you need to get rid of the rubber bushings. Racing beat has excelent progressive springs if you would like a lower more agressive look, and a much better cornering car. Also strut tower braces will help out with your body roll and help to stiffen up your frame.

A strut tower brace will not help reduce body roll, although it will stiffen up your car and improve turn in response. If you want to reduce body roll you need larger anti-sway bars to start with, and some nice coilovers combined with that will get rid of any noticeable body roll on the street. Or for less $$$ some Koni yellows and stiffer springs of your choice will do the trick..

Great advice guys, thanks. Any differences between say Tokico, GAB, or Koni, shocks? What other brands are there? What about springs, Eibach, H&R, or one of the "tuner" brands like M2? I've heard that there is a weak link in the stock sway bar system (end links?), what brands are recommended replacements? I've really haven't done much research on suspension stuff before and numbers like 550/450 lb spring rate etc don't mean anything to me, any books or reference web sites so I can learn about this stuff? I'd like to lower the car a bit, and stiffen things up, but I don't want the fillings rattled out of my teeth either, I guess adjustability would be nice for that.
