I've never quite understood the need for a remote to operate a CD player that is inches away from your hand every time you use it.

I use my remote for my CD player in my Explorer, It's a lot easier to use than the unit itself, that and the fact that I change the station like every 10 seconds

Actually, I used to think that too, until I got a car stereo that had it.

YOu don't ever have to look down while driving to find the buttons-once you acclimate to the remote, you can just punch away at the buttons.

I have the Sony CDX-M620, with the foldout face, so even if I wanted to, I'd have to open the face up to get to any of the controls.
