Yeah, normally it's just crap built up in the sunroof rails. Try and push against the sunroof while using the button and see if you can get it open. Once you do, clean out the rails as best you can and lube them up with white lithium grease - you can get a can of it at most any parts store. Work the roof back and forth a few times to get everything juicy .
I did actually have a problem on my FC where the limit switch for the first sunroof stop went bad. You'd push the button, the sunroof would pop open and move, then stop. Normally you would let go of the button and push again, but it wouldn't do anything - no sound from the motor or anything. I just bypassed the limit switch and it was good to go, but it wouldn't stop at that spot any more - just fully closed and opened.
Again, that was on an FC, and I've yet to mess with an FD sunroof (I don't have one ).

On my CRX a nut fell off on one side which caused it move crooked (one side faster) and then it stops so it doesn't jam or gets jamed. I put a replacement nut on and that fixed it for a while. Now I have to check if it fell off again or if it's misaligned.

Shove it
Same experience as noted earlier:
Push button with one hand, push up on sunroof with the other until up;
release button and push button again to slide it back.
Above said to use standard lithium grease after cleaning clap off the slide rails.
Definitely clean the rails and the gasket between the sunroof and the roof.
I changed lubes and used silicon spray on the gasket and the rails, instead of grease.
Now it operates with just the motor.
At least it did last time it was not raining and warm enough to think about opening it.
