Sunday was a good FD day.

For the first time I took the FD when I went to visit my girlfriend who lives 122 miles away. I usually take the S80 but the road there (scenic 177) is SO cool, lots of twisties that I have been really wanting to take the RX-7. Ran the trip in 93 minutes, door to door, averaging about 80 mph. Her 19 year old daughter went ga-ga over the car, as did half the cops in town...lol! And a judge, who wanted to know what kind of car it was.
Took the KS Turnpike back home for part of the trip, was running about 85 - 90 when I saw a trio of headlights moving up FAST behind me. Three cars from Texas were hauling *** south. A Cadillac Escalade, a 5 series BMW, and a Honda Prelude. I wanted to see how fast they were going so I hopped on the wagon train.....
JUDAS ******* PRIEST! These guys were running about 125.
At night.
On what was most likely an unknown road to them.
I played with them for about 5 miles and then let them go, watched them disappear into the night.
(Hey, my gf is a cop, sort of....she works for the sherriff's department) Somehow I could just see her face if I'd gotten busted at those speeds.....
I also got almost 17 mpg for the trip....God it felt good to let the car stretch its legs!

And.... j/k Send her up to me. I'm 19, single, with an FD.

Sounds like a good day for you. Just don't kill yourself at crazy speeds like that on the highway.
