stuttering at WOT
Alright my car has been at rotary power for 2 weeks now getting random things fixed, and right now Jeff is trying to fix this stuttering problem at full throttle. Here are a couple of things hes checked to rule out some ideas.
- just put on a downpipe
- checked fuel pressure
- replaced ignition coils
- fixed my hoses (whoever did the hose job didnt know wtf he was doing)
As of right now, he said he's going to try to change the ignition harness to see if that would do it. What is the probability that this will fix it? He also said that if that doesnt work out, I should take it to an electrician to check out the wiring harness. Do you guys think it could be that? I'm just trying to see if anyone on the board could help us out, cause I miss my car lol. Thanks

If it's when full boost comes on, could be your plugs need replacing. Ignition breakup sounds a lot like that. But they'd have to be majorly f'ed up to get that with just a downpipe.
My stock ignition doesn't start breaking up until about 16-17 psi. That's with some old, worn out plugs.
Try new plug wires as well.

Checking/upgrading your grounds is a good start.
We recently had a car in at the RX-7Store that would shudder, much like ignition break-up, at WOT. We found, and repaired/replaced 4 different wires/connectors broken under the UIM. The IAT sensor wire was barely attached at the connector and would read open when bumped(did not correct concern). the Knock sensor wire was broken flush with connector(nope). The Fuel temp sensor connector was cracked and would not stay attached(nope). The front secondary injector connector was broken/loose and someone(idiot previous mechanic?) tried to "glue" it on with RTV (BINGO-FIXED).
Good luck, I hope you solve your concern quickly
