stupid question here - but are historic vehicles excempt from emissions and other such requirements?

As far as I understand it - a historic vehicle is any vehicle that was manufactured more than 25 years ago OR one which has unqiue characteristics and which is determined to be of historical, classic, or exhibition value.

wonder how unique/rare an RX7 would have to get?

ps just tired of doing all sorts of things to try to get our cars to pass emissions
