Dropping the clutch will most likely cause wheel hop, and power shifting will wear out the tranny and everything else a lot quicker. Imagine what happens when you shift at redline and keep the gas depressend and you try to shove the car into 2nd gear and it doesnt let you in. Your car will rev to as high as it will go till you let off the gas. But if you want to try it go on ahead, better yet why dont you ask your friend to show you how to power shift on his s2000.

Actually, to get the best performance out of the car, yes, keep pedal to the metal, but....if you miss a shift, you could be picking up a lot more than just the trans. Years ago a friend of mine had a small block Chevy that he was shifting @ 9000 RPM, missed a shift and flywheel and clutch assembly came right through the floor.
If your ever at the drags, listen to the people that have perfected this, their cars sound, when shifted, as if they were equipped with automatics.
