Stupid Fans keep on running still
Well after changing the engine harness out and a few other things I powered up the car again after sitting all Winter. I had this problem last Year and was hoping it was the crispy fried main engine harness. Now I am thinking it might be the relays but would they not keep the fans off instead of on all the time. This all started last year after My single turbo install and PFC and is now becoming a pain because it kills My battery if I need to check things with the ignition on. I am tired of unplugging them and know I will forgett them sometime soon and dont need that. If anyone has had this problem and repaired it let Me know. I can get new relays but could use any other suggestions.

don't race, don't need to
If the fans are coming on, then the relays are ok, aren't they? Sounds more like the engine management system... but I don't have one, so what do I know?

maybe the relays are fried in the on position. i would check the relays just to narrow down what could be wrong. i would also check your pfc and see what temp you have the fans set to come on at. who knows it could be set to zero.

No, I used the datalogit to set the temps correct. I am going to test all the relays again . What to do after that, maybe use a switch to turn them on instead? These cars are possessed or mine is for sure. New sensors everywhere , basically new everything but still small iritating things.

lol i forgot you got the datalogic. hmmm your fd does seem to be a problem car. i saw salp that hoe and show her whos boss. anyways i would think it would have to be a relay or maybe a grounded wire somewhere. that way it would complete the curcuit. i cant think of anyother reason why it works the way it does.

try checking the black wire next to the power fc. there should be a single black wire that's not connected to anything. when u ground this wire the fans wil run even if the car is off. this wire is usually used for the fan mod.

unground the shorter of the black wires with ring ends on them that come out from next to the ecu. when you unbolted the bracket for the ecu and installed the pfc, you probably grounded both of the wires, which causes the fan to go on forever.
hope this helps. i ran into the same stumper a couple weeks ago when configuring ecu's.
